Scottsdale is the best city in Arizona to raise a family, and No. 8 in the nation, according to a new survey that rates features like fun, safety, schools, healthcare, and socio-economics.
Gilbert was No. 9, right behind Scottsdale, with Chandler coming in at No. 21. First was Overland Park, Kansas.
Scottsdale didn't kill any particular category in the survey, although it was third in the highest median family salary, adjusted for cost of living, with Gilbert at No. 4. Gilbert also was second in the nation for families with young children.
Scottsdale rated on the high side for Family Fun, Health and Safety, and Child Care, and lower in affordability.
